i-i just read your letter and i
i can't tell you how i feel
i wish that i could make everything ok
but i know that i'm miles and miles away
but i'll be on my face for you
praying that the sun will shine again
-inhabited 'one more night'
anyway, 'one more night' seems like an appropriate title.
i've been here for about a week now, and this is the first night i've had to do much of anything. christmas eve...it sure doesn't feel like it, but it never does when you're far from home. my thoughts wander out to my friends and family; i miss you guys! i sure hope your christmas will be better than mine. eat lots of food for me.
Hey, I'm your first follower! (Hope that didn't come off sounding cultish)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, try not to spend too much time "sitting on a dirty linoleum floor, sipping cheap scotch." (a Jim Cramer reference on case you didn't recognize it)
But seriously, I hope your holiday is as good as it can possibly be, considering that you were just deployed to the other side of the world. I'm heading up to Grandpa and Grandma's today. I'll say hi to them for you. Oh, and I'll be sure to eat lots of food for you.
Take care, be safe, and Merry Christmas...
Hey, Stephen, we think the blog is a great idea. Your experience sounds like it's very foreign. We'll definitely miss you for Christmas. We'll pass your blog spot info around to family. Take care of yourself, and know that you're taking care of us this Christmas. We love you.
ReplyDeleteDad and Mom
Steve,
ReplyDeleteIt's Aunt Mary. So glad to have received your email re your blog!...not so glad to read about where you are, but definitely brings reality closer to home...in this case...ugh. Thank you for being there on our behalf and "holding down the fort," so to speak!
I can answer your question as to why you relate everything to a song....your Mom. It's in your genes man...I do it ALL the time as well....tis a good thing, I think, anyway.
My hubby and I are living in Boise, ID and all my kids are still in Portland. Had to move out here due to Rick's work.
I saw your short list of what you need, but don't have an address. Can you post it please? If I missed it somewhere, I apologize...nonetheless, I need it:)
Take care, dear Nephew, as best you can and know that I'm following your progress, and praying for your safety.
Yia-Yia's here with us for about 3 weeks. I updated her and she told me to tell you that she loves you and misses you very much.
Still lovin' you and very happy to be reconnected.
